"Of Paper Wings..." Of Paper Wings is an accordion book structure that unfolds to reveal a small shadow box gilled with a secret garden. This little structure opens to reveal birds peeking in and out among the ferns and butterflies alighting here and there symbolizing the eternal cycle of the seasons. Enjoy! "Navigation Imagination"
"Navigation Imagination" is a hinged book that begins as a box that then opens and folds back upon itself. Two halves can be folded up with two halves down thereby allowing a very sculptural format. This view is with all four halves folded back onto themselves pointing outward towards the four cardinal points. Images of antique celestial maps guide the viewer to new worlds and new journeys. Windows filled with transparent images of birds and other smbols convey the viewer to other paths and courses. This could have been a portable wunderkabinet for the ancient voyager.
