These artist's books comprised of repurposed book covers, vintage photos, fabrics, wallpaper designs and other elements, detail the immigration waves into the lower east side of New York City in the late 19th and early 20th century. They highlight the rise of entrepreneurialship of women who had to support themselves, children who became the hidden labor force and the integration of immigrants, considered to be an invasive species like sparrows, starlings and trumpeter swans, into the American way of life.
